Saint Salome was a daughter of Saint Joseph the Betrothed. She married Zebedee a fisherman, and together they had two sons, the Holy Apostles Saint James and Saint John the Theologian. Saint Salome truly was blessed as she was one of the first and last to minister to Our Lord Jesus Christ, this is because she was at his Nativity as midwife taking care of Our Most Holy Mother of God when she gave Birth, and she also anointed His Holy Body with spices upon His death. Saint Salome followed Jesus through His life, ministering to Him, and remained at the Cross where she witnessed many things including the Temple Veil being torn and was among the first women who beheld His Glorious Resurrection as she was one of the Holy Myrrh-Bearers.
